Watch: Surviving Crooked Lake

Surviving Crooked Lake is a film about 4 girls lost in what looks like northern Ontario dealing with the brutality of Mother Nature combined with some unfortunate events. The film posed mysteries and challenges throughout to keep the viewer hooked along with good relationships between the characters and great climax scenes. The dangers the girls face are very realistic and it makes the whole experience that much more exciting as the viewer. Definitely one to check out!

Vegan Apple Cinnamon Pancakes

I've been on vacation for the past couple weeks and haven't gotten use to the time change yet so at 6am this morning I rolled out of bed and threw together some delicious pancakes.

Combine the following (adjust variations in measurements to taste):

1 cup whole wheat flour
1/2 cup rolled oats
1-3 tbsp brown sugar
Pinch of salt
1 1/2 tbsp baking powder
2-3 tsp cinnamon

Visit: High Park Toronto

My friends and I took a long walk through High Park in Toronto this past weekend to check out the cherry blossom trees. High Park proves that Toronto grows more than skyscrapers. The park is complete with a zoo, pond, and countless grassy resting places. It is a great place to go if you need to escape the city without actually leaving it.

Bringing Light to the Basement Apartment

Most people don't dream of living in a basement but a larger basement apartment can be a better alternative to a small and boxy apartment in a sky rise. A room does not need massive windows or sky high ceilings to make you feel like you are coming home to paradise every day; don't underestimate the power of a nice coat of paint and some throw cushions that pop. Check out these great designs that would make any of your friends envious of your basement apartment! Rugs, mirrors, art, and lighting are all things to keep in mind to make your space cozy and stylish. I noticed a lot of basement apartment renovations that included an electric fireplace which I think is a great idea to create a homey space.

Pretty Organization for Small Spaces

Last summer I lived in a small sun room with my boyfriend, there was about one square foot of floor space surrounded by a bed and clothes. One night my boyfriend and I were laying in bed on our computers and he leaned over to grab something and literally poked me in the open eye. The room was so small but it was sunny and I had it so organized that we actually made it work (although one item of clothing on the floor made the whole place a complete mess).

The point of this post is with any sized space, organization is essential. When you are living in a small space how you organize is pretty much how you are decorating because that is all you have room for! I searched far and wide and collected a bunch of organization ideas to make your small space hold all your stuff without compromising style.

Not only is the sink working as extra storage in this bathroom, using a latter to hang your towels frees up closet space.

I love the idea of using antique boxes as both decoration and storage.
